DBS Verification

It was reported that there had been a slow uptake in coaches/volunteers completing the form. However, after some confusion and clarification about who was completing the form Dan will be forward to relevant parties to complete it.

Action: Dan to send to send to relevant coaches/volunteers/officials

Coaches

Dan and Vic confirmed positive news around up to 4 new coaches and requested the required budgetary support for up to 6 potential coaches.

Angus has ordered more uniform for some coaches.

Regional Club Coaching lead Carl Foster has offered support to Dan for new coaches and their accreditation.

Dan has reported the return of an existing coach after a break and the parent helper programme has been working really well.

Alan offered his support when possible over the summer on the track.

Alan is continuing to work with Ross Mason on potential support and coaching but it will likely need to turn to LURAC and both Sports Science departments from LU and Uni of Cumbria for potential volunteers.

Finance

Liz reported at the end of May there was 44k currently in the bank and this was the healthiest the club had been financially for some time.

A detailed income/expenditure document was provided but if committee members have questions they need to ask Liz directly.

Liz also report she would begin to look into better investment rate options but this would take a little time.

It was noted there were still not as many senior member renewals and a request would be made to Emily to send out membership payment requests via the portal as a reminder.

Action: Emily to email senior members regarding memberships

Action: Liz to look into further better savings rates

Member updates

Thanks was given to Angus, Charlie, Brendan and Emily for completing the committee member update form for the meeting.

Charlie – Will be away for a period of time so access to the website from the 15th June for 2 weeks so any updates would need to fit around this timeline.

Angus – Requested support on a future Mid Lancs Fixture. Committee agreed it was important to support this request but to potentially lean on Garstang and Kendal for support.

Club BBQ 6th September

Alan will continue to push this event and request support from Charlie to publish on the club website and socials

Emily had noted she’d been contacted by a couple of people requesting more details after hearing Alan mention it on the radio.

Promotion Day

Charlie noted he had fliers if required but they would need collecting.

Further information would be needed around the request for public liability insurance for attendance.

Action: Alan to report

AOB

Alan report the beginners group was starting this week but it was also noted the amount of ‘Run groups’ that were in the area. Thanks goes to Billy and Brendan for being involved.

Action: Build relationships with these run groups over the summer inviting them to the club

Dan requested use of the clubhouse on the 29th / 30th August, it was agreed to support Dan with these dates.

It was requested that the AGM in 2026 to be held a little earlier to enable information to be publicised within good time before renewals.

Action: Alan to explore future dates and report.
